WHY CERTIFIED ORGANIC CHICKEN?
The conventional method of raising chickens for meat can include holding the animals in crowded pens, where they live their whole life without fresh air or wholesome food to help nourish them. In addition, to add weight to the birds faster than normal, they are fed antibiotics and sometimes other animal parts or waste to speed their development and sizing.
These feeds are used because they are cheap; not because of their nutritional value. The birds live in a constant state of anxiety that results in stress hormones and adrenaline being released into the animals' system, which remains in their meat (along with antibiotics) when the birds are prepared for the market
Certified organic chickens are fed certified organic feeds from their very first day. Certified organic GMO-free corn and soybeans make up a majority of their diet. Certified organic chickens are not treated with any antibiotics or other drugs. Unlike their conventional cousins, certified organic chickens are free to roam in open space, and have access to fresh air and water at all times.
